Day 6 – Blakeney to Cromer

Posted in : Norfolk blog on by : Nick

16.1 miles

The coast path out of Blakeney takes a rather circuitous route to visit Cley-next-the-sea (pointless really) before reaching Blakeney Point & Cley Beach, there were a million wouldbe photographers with their massive lenses trained out to sea for some reason (I couldn’t see what all the fuss was about)…

From here the path is about 3 miles of shingle beach – really tough going – but stunningly beautiful…. 4 terraced houses are reached @ Weybourne Hope that look like they don’t have long before they are lost to the sea (bizarrely one of these houses was having work done for a new roof?)

The going is now along cliff top paths into Sheringham where I stopped for coffee and a bacon sandwich. After that there’s a trig point at Beeston Bump (63m) – highest point on the Norfolk Coast Path – before the final stroll through all the caravan parks into Cromer
