Day 155 – Mile 2442.5 – 2466.9

Tentsite (4) to Stevens Pass

Miles to go: 188.3

Canada: 2655.2

Today I knew I had to get to Stevens Pass. I couldn’t spend another night in my tent because everything was too wet to keep me warm for another night.

So far the second part of Washington has been very up & down. Almost as soon as you’re down from one climb you’re starting another. Today was no exception, there were 4 big climbs on today’s route. The first 2 were passes, ‘Piper Pass’ (5,936ft) & ‘Traps Pass’ (5,777ft). The rain was light and intermittent for the first part of the day and the views down to the many lakes were stunning. However after the 3rd climb the heavy rain started with about 4miles to go. I got absolutely soaked. I was so glad I’d be in a ski lodge with a drying room, home cooked food and a warm bed for the night.

Dinner; Chicken Dal with rice, mixed greens and Chapatti. Dessert; Chocolate brownies

At last. Vegetables! Slightly worried that you’ll have scurvy by the time you get back home.

Keep going. really, really nearly there. Go NickNick!
